Respiratory viral infections and their role in human cardiovascular diseases
نویسندگان
چکیده
Acute respiratory viral infections are the most common human diseases. Symptoms of infection vary from a slight cold to critical condition requiring artificial lung ventilation and support cardiovascular system. Main risk factors severe disease include high load, co-infection with other pathogens, age 0 2 years older than 65 years, immunodeficiency. Cardiac manifestations usually caused by indirect effects due inflammatory reaction resulting in systemic increase proinflammatory cytokines, so called cytokine storm. However, there have been reports on identification viruses isolated directly myocardial tissue, or testing RNA myocardium using real-time polymerase chain reaction. This review discusses direct causing complications. The authors discuss similarities differences immunopathogenic mechanisms associated COVID-19, influenza infection, as well diseases enteroviruses, syncytial viruses, metapneumoviruses, parainfluenza viruses.

Viral Infections and their Role in Autoimmune Diseases, with Emphasis on Mechanisms and Molecular Interactions
Introduction: The exact cause of most autoimmune diseases is still unknown; however, several factors play a role in causing or exacerbating autoimmune reactions. In addition to environmental factors such as bacterial, parasitic, fungal and viral infections, factors such as genetic characteristics and lifestyle are also included. Infections caused by viruses usually trigger a strong immune respo...
متن کاملRespiratory Viral Infections in Chronic Lung Diseases.
Chronic lung diseases, such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, cystic fibrosis (CF) and interstitial lung diseases (ILD), affect many individuals worldwide. Patients with these chronic lung diseases are susceptible to respiratory lung infections and some of these viral infections can contribute to disease pathogenesis. This review highlights the associations of lung infect...
متن کاملExosomes and Their Role in Viral Infections
Exosomes are excretory nano-vesicles that are formed by the cell’s endocytic system and shed from the surface of almost all types of cells. These tiny extracellular vesicles, once thought to be “garbage bags for cells,” carry a wide variety of molecules of cellular origin, including proteins, lipids, and RNAs, that are selectively incorporated during the formation of exosomes. Exosomes are now ...
متن کاملRole of metapneumovirus in viral respiratory infections in young children.
The contribution of human metapneumovirus (hMPV) relative to that of other respiratory viruses as a cause of respiratory infections in children less than 1 year old has been evaluated. From October 2003 to April 2004, nasopharyngeal samples from 211 children less than 1 year old were analyzed to detect respiratory viruses. Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) was the predominant virus isolated (96...
متن کاملArginase and Respiratory Viral Infections
Arginase activity in the lung has become a focus of research as modulation of this enzyme may result in desirable outcomes in a variety of pulmonary disorders. This review examines the current available literature for insights into how arginase modulation may alter the course of respiratory viral infection.
